Santa Claus comes to Town
19th December 2009
The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts certainly lived up to the Scouting motto “Be Prepared”, when they rose to the challenge of helping Santa Claus spread the Season's good cheer to the village of Crockenhill.
They set off with Rudolph and Santa at the helm, and with lanterns a glow and buckets full of sweets they made their way around the village.
Said Richard Taylor, the Group Scout Leader: “Our Group has been doing this for many years and this is the first time we’ve had a "White Christmas", but it really made it all the more special for the village children.
It’s not just about fund raising, but giving something back to the village who have always supported the Group. The snow and freezing conditions certainly did not prevent us from doing our best.”
The Group would also like to thank the mums, dads and other family supporters for coming out on such an extreme night, and wish all members of Swanley District Scouts a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
