Harvest Fayre 2012
8th September 2012
Hundreds turn out again for the Crockenhill Village Harvest Fayre & Produce Show.
For the 6th year in a row the Crockenhill Scout Group has helped the Village Fayre by hosting activities on the village green in association with the Harvest Fayre Committee.
There was be a BBQ & beer tent, live music, a tug of war, dog show, dancers from Crockenhill School, and many other stalls and activities.
As usual, the Produce Show was held in the Village Hall across the road from the green.
This year our sponsored charity was the Kent branch of "Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers", or SERV-Kent as they are more commonly known. Founded in 1981, Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers was set up to supply a quick and reliable means of transporting Emergency Blood and related products to hospitals and medical facilities at night. This service is provided FREE of any charge to the hospitals, releasing much-needed funds for improved patient care and other facilities.
In all, the village raised £271 through the produce auction held towards the end of the fayre.
