Centenary Camp
31st October 2010
Our Scout Group is 100 years old this year.
So, to celebrate, we had a weekend activity camp at Wilberforce Scout Centre.
On the Saturday morning we had some inside activities,
whilst the outdoor ones were being set up.
Some of Scouts used a oversized Jenga set for mega domino runs.
Once the weather had cleared up, we got started on the Adventure Course
and here you can see some Cub Scouts on the scramble net.
Older Scouts would climb to the top and come down the other side,
but it was just that little bit too high for our tatse - and the Cub Scouts !
Later on, we had lessons on how to use an air rifle safely,
and then on for some target practice.
It's a lot harder than it looks.
One of the features of the Wilberforce Scout Centre is the
large grasssy slope that is just perfect for grass sledging.
This was on one of the most popluar activities - as you can see !
If there had to be a second most popular activity, then it was the archery.
All ages could have a go on special training bows, and it was amazing to
see how far an arrow could travel when the Instructors gave a demonstration
during the lunch break.
We ended the Saturday with a party and disco,
before settling down in front of a film.
