Our Squirrel Scout Drey has opened!
Squirrels are children aged 4 & 5 years old and it is the beginning of their Scouting experience.
Although we have now filled the 12 places we wanted to start with, as soon as our new leaders are comfortable with their new volunteer roles and we have our Parent rota in place, we will be increasing the number of places. This will probably be towards the end of this year.
However, you can still place your child on our Waiting List, but not before their 3rd birthday.
For an hour every week during term time Squirrels will gather to grow and learn their way through lots of different games and activities, all whist making new friends and having fun.
They will embrace and enjoy all that Scouting has to offer; being
introduced to outdoor activities, having the opportunity to be creative,
exploring their local community, learning all sorts of things (without
even realising) and achieving anything they can set their minds to.
As
a Squirrel, your child will try all sorts of new things, earn some
amazing badges and awards, make new friends, become curious about their
world, and help get themselves ready for the amazing adventures they
will have at School and in Beavers (when they are 6 years old).
For
some children this can be the first time they have been left alone
without a parent present, and they may find it a bit daunting. We will
work with you to help your child settle in, and it won't be long before
they are joining in and gaining confidence as they take part in the
games and activities.
Crockenhill Scouts meet in their own Scout Hut and offer Scouting to girls and boys of all abilities.
