Each section in Scouting has a distinctive uniform. Scouts wear a teal green shirt or blouse, navy blue activity trousers or skirt, a group scarf with a woggle, and a Scout belt.
These can all be purchased through Scout Shops, or more locally at Bromley District Scouts' shop. All proceeds are used to support Scouting, and the clothing is to a good quality and extremely hard wearing.
The Activity badges allow Scouts to show their progress in existing pursuits, and to try all kinds of new things and form new interests.
Challenge Awards involve accomplishing more ambitious tasks within the Troop or community, and eight have to be achieved before being awarded your Chief Scout Gold award. There are a number of themes, from the physical and outdoorsy to challenges dealing with the local community or issues connected with the Scouting world.
In addition, there are a number of core badges and staged & sponsored activity badges.
The core badges are obtained upon joining or moving on from the Troop, or for time spent in the Scouting movement.
The 6 Staged Activity badges allow a young person to develop certain skills throughout their career from a Beaver Scout to an Explorer Scout.
The companies who sponsor an Activity badge often provide exciting Activity Packs to help Scouts towards achieving these badges.
