Map Reading Competition

It was a bit chilly for camping outdoors at the start of 2009 with all that snow, so we had a Map Reading Challenge.
The Scouts had to hike from Farningham to Crockenhill via Swanley Village.
Two patrols took part, and the winning patrol completed the course nearly an hour ahead of the other patrol.
It probably didn’t help that the slower patrol got stuck in a field !

At the end of the day, two Scouts had achieved the 5 Hikes Away staged activity badge.
